Business Development Manager – Commercial Portfolio at Imperial College London

Job summary 

The UKCRC-registered Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) is a research unit working across both Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, with affiliated NHS Trusts delivering world class clinical trials of all phases. 

Activities encompass all aspects of all stages of clinical trials from generation to delivery. ICTU provides expertise in trial methodology and all aspects of conduct in several key disease areas including cardiovascular, HIV and infectious diseases, cancer, surgery, respiratory disease, emergency medicine and critical care, metabolic diseases and works closely with the Joint Research Compliance Office of Imperial College London to ensure that the regulatory, legal and quality control aspects of trials are met. 

With the expansion of ICTU’s commercial arm, there are now exciting opportunities to develop the portfolio of clinical trials and studies, whilst maintaining a reputation for conducting high quality work. 

This post will be based within the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit (ICTU) in the School of Public Health (SPH) with direct line management provided by an ICTU Operations Manager. 

Duties and responsibilities 

As a key member of the commercial team of ICTU, this post has responsibility for contributing to the successful planned expansion and strategic direction of the commercial portfolio.

You will divide their time between two areas of responsibility:

  • to develop and expand the awareness of ICTU’s commercial activities
  • to take a leading role in the creation of project budget’s and proposals under the oversight of the operations managers

Essential requirements 

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business, management, or health field. Previous experience of leading on business development activities, including creating detailed project budgets, sales pitches and presenting as well as creating marketing/advertising materials and presentations is essential.

The post will be full time and fixed term for 12 months in the first instance and will be based at Stadium House, White City campus.
