UCL Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (CEGE), is a multidisciplinary department with a long tradition of excellence in teaching and research. CEGE holds the Royal Academy of Engineering award of ‘Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design’ jointly with the Bartlett, the UCL Faculty of the Built Environment.
CEGE is offering a part-time teaching fellow position to deliver coordination, teaching and assessment of the existing module: CEGE0016 Financial Aspects of Project Engineering which is delivered throughout the First Term to undergraduate and postgraduate students on programmes from the following departments: Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The postholder will deliver this module by fully online provision, utilising UCL Digital Education tools and platforms, and design and implement effective group and individual assessment by coursework and presentation methods.
One post for two days per week (14.6 hours) is available with immediate start, funded for six months.
The ideal candidate will be educated to PhD level in engineering or related fields, and have excellent knowledge of financial and economic aspects of project engineering and analytical tools applied in this context. Experience of leading/coordinating a taught module OR lecturing/providing tutorial support in a relevant field at either postgraduate or undergraduate level, and experience of designing and supporting individual and group-based assessment, and providing formative and summative feedback to students are also essential. A recognised qualification in teaching and learning in higher education, and expertise in online teaching and digital education would be an advantage.
